| I almost forgot about xanga. I remember when I would spend most of my free time reading other people's blog, finding out what they were thinking about and what they were going through at the moment. Now I'm always just on facebook...actually I think this is linked to show up on my facebook notes, but I kinda miss the days when everyone blogged. I think in many ways it was theraputic for me to just have an outlet for my random thoughts...I would reflect on my day to see what was important to post and write about. So much has changed since I first started this in 2003, and even from more than a year ago when I last posted I feel quite different.
I'm not really sure what the point of this post was, but I guess that's the great thing about blogging - it doesn't really matter if you do

| It's somewhat strange to be back in the United States, be back in Seattle, be back living at home. In some ways I feel like I never left and the last 3.5 months I spent in China didn't happen, but in other ways I feel like so much has changed. Being in China was almost like taking a break from everything...for the first time in my life I had very little (almost no) responsibilities, a relatively easy course load, people to hangout with all the time and just time to have fun and enjoy myself without worrying so much about life. I am so happy that I had the opportunity to go Study Abroad...one of the best experiences of my life! Although parts of me wishes I could have stayed longer in China, I'm also really glad I'm back in Seattle

| Summer has gone by way too fast this year. I've barely had time to just sit back and enjoy waking up and doing absolutely nothing. Just a couple of months ago I was finishing up Spring Quarter and getting excited about summer...
Now two months later I've... -moved out of my apartment and am living back at home -completed my first ever summer class and realized summer school isn't that bad (yeah im a nerd) -finally stopped working at Packaging Specialties -started working in the College of Forest Resources Financial Services Office getting a dollar raise after only working there for 3 weeks -managed to work out at the IMA at least 2 times each week -become slightly more flexible after 8 weeks of yoga classes -gone camping where i provided food for 30 people without making anyone sick -helped out at VBS as a 2nd Grade teacher -gone to my first real musical
My summer basically ends in a few weeks...I'm leaving for Shanghai on September 1st! I'm excited to go but it hasn't really hit me yet that I'll actually be living in another country for four months! It's coming up really soon...and I still have a few major things to do before I leave. I realized that weekend I'm leaving will be a super busy one filled with events I am helping to plan...Aug. 31st is Koin Senior Sendoff, Sept. 1st is my sister's 18th bday party and Sept. 2nd is the SCAC Dearborn Event...

| I'm officially halfway done with college! That's a crazy thought! Today I went to my sister's award's ceremony at Garfield and it was strange because I thought about it and it's been 2 years since I graduated high school...didn't really seem like that long ago. Although I guess I still look pretty young because I ran into my high school counselor and he said to me "so next year is your turn right?" I was like, "I graduated 2 years ago." Then with a confused look he turns to look at me, then my sister, then back to me and said "oh right! you are the older one!" I'm not sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
Do we really look that much alike cuz I don' think we do? And do I really look like the younger sibling?
(oh and I'm not really that short...my sister is in heels and im in flip-flops!)
This is two years ago at me and michelle's graduation. our siblings took our cap and gown, but now its really their turn!

| Relay for Life was this past weekend and it was awesome...despite the coldness and the drizzle...Team Peg Legs 2 braved it out at Husky Stadium for 18hrs. Thanks to all 34 team members that helped us raise almost $3000 for the American Cancer Society! Thanks also to all those that donated and dropped by to give us food and show their support. Here are some pics from the event!
